Having Scripture internalized can anchor our souls and bodies. It can bring hope and peace during times of distress (consider Jesus’ reciting Psalm 22 while on the cross). Internalizing Scripture can bring benefits such as resisting temptation, drawing strength from God and hearing God’s voice. As a result of memorizing Scripture, we can be people who “have the mind of Christ (1 Corin. 2:16).
